The KLSA Annual Spring Meeting is on May 23, 2026 at the Buckhorn Community Centre, 1782 Lakehurst Rd., Buckhorn, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

KLSA will provide updates on our ongoing programs, and once again this year we’re welcoming guests from several environmental organizations to share the important work they’re doing to help protect the health of our lakes and surrounding environment. You’ll have an opportunity to visit their exhibits and chat with representatives. Kawartha Conservation will also be on site selling native plants to help enhance your shoreline.

We’re also excited to feature a terrific guest speaker: Warren Dunlop — retired Senior Aquatic Ecologist with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, President of the North Pigeon Lake Association (NPLA), and avid ornithologist — who will present: “Observing the ‘Wings’ of Change: Bird Populations in the Kawarthas.” After Warren’s engaging presentation, you may feel inspired to stop by the Peterborough County Stewardship Council exhibit to pick up a nesting box of your own!

Attendees will also be able to pick up a copy of our special 25th Anniversary Edition Lake Water Quality Report, Looking Back, Moving Forward: 25 Years of Kawartha Lakes Stewardship. For E. coli program volunteers, water sampling kits will be available as well.
